Hi

I’m also a certified yoga teacher…

From the first time I rolled out my mat nearly three decades ago at the YMCA, I’ve loved how yoga helps me reconnect to my body and breath and feel grounded. I’m in my head all day for writing work: scrolling headlines, brainstorming, writing, researching, editing. Getting on my mat is a gift to myself, and my family 😊 Do you remember those Magic Slate or Etch-A-Sketch toys? Taking class never fails to wipe the screen clean, creating space for a shift in thinking. When I was working in my corporate job, I brought a yoga teacher friend into the company to lead two classes a week. I longed to discover what my mind and body would feel like if I could take a yoga class every day. Now as a solopreneur, I found out! Yoga brings equanimity, calm, clarity, and focus to CJH Communications projects—and life–like nothing else. Movement can boost mood and reduce anxiety, multiple scientific studies have shown. Practicing asanas helps improve joint mobility, maintain muscular flexibility, build balance and focus, and support recovery and mindset.

Feeling uninspired and low energy? Get on your mat. Ruminating on a problem? Get on your mat. Writer’s block? Mat.

I completed my 300-hour yoga teacher training certificate in June 2026 after earning my 200-hour certification the previous year. Both training programs were led by Melissa Leach of Apex Performance Institute and Heather Petrosky of We Be Yoga School . I bring a growth mindset and lifelong love of learning into my classes every week.

Learning and growth are welcome and encouraged...

…in my yoga community. We are anatomy-based and trauma-informed, meaning that our classes prioritize safety, choice, and sensory awareness. I love to create class playlists that match the energy and vibe we seek to achieve, including no lyrics and silence when appropriate.

I guide students to turn inward...

…focusing on breath and sensations to build a positive mind-body connection. I cue balancing postures and heart openers to help calm students’ sympathetic response. Favorite poses: Half Moon and Humble Warrior for their strengthening, hip-opening, third eye activating qualities.

Props are our friends...

…blocks, straps, bolsters can help extend our arms, support us, let our bodies lengthen, and raise the floor. Invitational language, consent-based assisting, and positional empowerment are core components of my teaching.
